History: Kelly
Bluebaugh is a self-made entrepreneur, nitrous engine
builder, and machinist. Bluebaugh is the sole owner and
operator of WFO Racing and Machine, an exclusive by
appointment only custom nitrous race engine shop in Phoenix
Arizona. The creation of WFO Racing and Machine has allowed
him to spend all his time around drag racing, which is his
life’s passion. Bluebaugh has been into the drag race
scene since his late teens upon discovery of the magic of
big cubic inch and maximum nitrous injection.
Bluebaugh,
a 25-year veteran of the drag racing sport, began his love
for drag racing through catching the tail of Phoenix’s
craze for cruising and street racing in the 80’s.
Bluebaugh reined the unrivaled king of the street wars with
his wild nitrous loaded big block Chevy engines, which were
stealthily packed into average looking muscle cars.
Bluebaugh
went on to race the Super Chevy Show series all around the
country in his modified street machines styled after his
street racing days. Bluebaugh won a handful of the Super
Chevy Show events and was a tough contender on the scene. It
was during this time that he cultivated a life long
friendship with Pro Mod legend Charles Carpenter. Today
Bluebaugh serves as a member of Carpenters crew and travels
the ADRL circuit.
Eager
to move up, Bluebaugh purchased what is now affectionately
known as the Worlds Fastest Chevy Citation. Then a super gas
car, Bluebaugh converted the Citation for the Prostreet
category of the Fastest Street Car Serious, precursor to the
Pacific Street Car Association (PSCA). Bluebaugh raced the
PSCA from the start in the Worlds Fastest Chevy Citation and
loves to be behind the wheel just as much as he loves
building his nitrous giants. In the early years of PSCA,
Bluebaugh ran simultaneously in the Sand Drag serious in
Sonora, Mexico as a hired gun winning nearly every race for
eight years straight.
Several
years ago, Bluebaugh reconnected with fellow street racer of
yesteryear, Steve Paulauskis. Bluebaugh quickly recognized
Paulauskis driving potential and placed him in his own
World’s Fastest Chevy Citation. The two teaming together,
Bluebaugh building the motor combination and Paulauskis
driving, put the Worlds Fastest Citation to new heights
taking PSCA’s February 05 race with an astounding 7.23 at
195 mph, the fastest run the Outlaw 10.5 class had ever
witnessed at the time.
When
Paulauskis decided to step up to his own car, a Pro-Mod
styled Chevrolet Cavalier, Bluebaugh packaged the cars barn
storming combination using his resources and industry
knowledge. The Cavalier went on to take the 2006 PSCA
Prostreet Championship in its first season with Bluebaugh
serving as the Crew Chief , engine builder, and NOS tuner.
The Cavalier set new ET standards for the class being the
first the break into the Six-forties. The Cavalier and Team
WFO obtained Team Transit Mix as a sponsor in 2007 taking
the WCHRA Prostreet Championship setting a record of 6.33 in
Bakersfield.
During
this time, Bluebaugh purchased a Pro Mod Monte Carlo from Ron
Weems at Toy Factory Racing who has offered much support to
the Team. Bluebaugh spent much of 2007 upgrading the Monte
Carlo. With anticipation of a sponsor negotiation on the
table from AutoTrader Publishing, a decision was made finish
the Monte Carlo early and run the 2007 seasons final events.
At the same time, the team began to change the WFO team name
to Bluebaugh Racing. WFO became the Worlds Fastest
Organization LLC, which is now a marketing entity that seeks
funding and sponsorship for the racing team.

Future
Plans:
Bluebaugh
Racing is looking forward to a bright racing future. The
Worlds Fastest Organization, marketing entity for Bluebaugh
Racing, has unveiled the new marketing partnership program
for the 2008 season as an alternative to asking for
sponsorship. Marketing members will gain a media viewer
impression that is currently estimated at over 600,000
viewers per month nationally. Deborah Woodard, the teams
marketing director, has set a goal to raise media
impressions to over a million viewers per month before the
end of 2008.
AutoTrader
Publishing will be the Team’s primary sponsor. AutoTrader
Publishing brings a powerhouse of media opportunity. Cox
AutoTrader is a leading producer of classified automotive
advertising publications with a total national reach of 3.5
million per week. The Teams goal is currently focused on the
Southwest Desert Region. Speed Scene Racing will provide
Media support relations for 2008. Speed Scene Live is a Web
Based Racing Television program, which is aired weekly. The
team will attend many off track events, continue with the
press release program, and seek new marketing opportunities.
Bluebaugh
Racing’s Team AutoTrader plans on fully attending the PSCA
this season. Bluebaugh has hopes that we can re-create the
success we have had over the last several years with the new
AutoTrader Monte Carlo.
Biggest
Rivals:
The
biggest challenge in 2008 will be competing with an
increasingly fast and competitive Pro Street field in PSCA
this year.
Accomplishments:
The Auto
Trader Monte Carlo is a relatively new car. The team hopes
to continue its two-year championship streak in Prostreet
Racing. In the last two seasons, the team won the 2006 PSCA
Pro Street Championship and 2007 WCHRA Pro Street Championship
teaming with Steve Paulauskis. During that time, the team
won eight events out of twelve final rounds, set the ET
record for WCHRA, and qualified in the top 10 in Orlando.
