Class Description
PRO STREET is the quickest and fastest heads-up class in the Pacific Street Car
Association's
line-up. Low 6's at over 245MPH is what you
will see in this class!! From a 1937 Willys with a Enormous Supercharger
or a 2012 Camaro with Massive Twin Turbos and even a Truck fitted with a
Ridiculously Large Nitrous Injected Mountain Motors make's
this the class everybody.... and I mean everybody is talking about!!!
Pro Street
CLASS GUIDELINES
BODY:
Steel, aluminum, fiberglass and carbon fiber bodies and body parts are allowed as long as the car
retains it's original appearance and profile. Wheel well openings can be modified for tire clearance.
Rear wings
are allowed, but may not extend more than 28 inches from the transition point with the body to the
tip. The drivers and passenger doors must be fully operational and must open from the outside. The
PSCA reserves the right to add weight penalties for any body modification
that does not fit within the current rules.
AERODYNAMICS:
PSCA reserves the right to add weight as deemed
necessary to any body style that presents a superior aerodynamic
advantage at any time during the season
LETTERING / DECALS:
Contingency decals
or SPONSOR decals may be
permanent on body, per approval from an PSCA official.
CHASSIS / SUSPENSION:
Any chassis and suspension combination that passes NHRA safety standards is allowed.
DRIVE TRAIN:
Any rear-end, gear ratio and transmission are allowed. Automatic transmissions may use a
trans-brake air or electric shifters.
IGNITION:
Entries may utilize only 1 Distributor or 1 Mag.
DISPLACEMENT LIMITS:
See Weight Breaks.
ENGINE MOUNT LOCATION:
The maximum allowable engine setback is no more than 10% of the wheelbase as measured from centerline of front spindle to center of furthest forward spark plug hole.
HEADS:
Any cylinder head is allowed as long as only 1 spark plug per cylinder
is functional.
EXHAUST:
Mufflers are not required.
FUEL / FUEL SYSTEMS: Gasoline
& Alcohol only (No Nitro) The PSCA reserves the right to check
gasoline at any time during competition. The addition of chemical
additives intended to alter the makeup of the gasoline for increased
performance is strictly prohibited. During fuel check, a competitor must
identify the brand of gasoline being used. The sample will be considered
illegal if it does not match the baseline results (ex. color, dielectric
reading +or-.2, and chemical tests) logged by PSCA. Failure to pass fuel
check is grounds for disallowance of the run during competition and
disqualification from the event during eliminations.
INDUCTION
NITROUS OXIDE:
All nitrous systems are allowed. Nitrous oxide commercially available,
thermostatically controlled blanket-type warmer accepted. Any other external heating of
bottle's
prohibited. The use of any agents other than nitrous oxide as part of, or mixed with, this
pressurized fuel system is prohibited. Nitrous oxide may not be used in conjunction with
supercharger or turbochargers. If entry is teched in at a non-nitrous weight break, all
nitrous
oxide lines, fittings, solenoids, and bottles must be removed before car is allowed to pass tech.
SUPERCHARGER / TURBOCHARGER: Single
centrifugal supercharger, single or twin turbochargers
allowed (max twin turbo size is 91.000mm ea.) Two-stage superchargers or turbos
are not allowed (twin turbos must share a
common plenum). Intercoolers are allowed. Screw & Roots-type limited to single supercharger per engine.
Roots-type size limited to 14-71; 19 inches maximum rotor length, 11 1/4-inch case width, rotor
cavity diameter 5.840 inches maximum, variable multi-speed supercharger devices prohibited.
Supercharger restraint systems required on Screw & Roots-type units.

Limit on Screw Super Charged Entries)
Nitrous oxide not allowed in
combination with supercharger or turbocharger.
TURBOCHARGER MEASURING PROCEDURE (Example 88mm):
PSCA accepted dual turbochargers are permitted with the following requirements: 1) Turbochargers must be of conventional impeller and housing design and type. 2) Turbochargers are limited to a maximum size of 88MM - 3.464-inch- inducer wheel diameter at the point where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the inlet housing. 3) Inlet housing is permitted a maximum inlet diameter of 3.545-inch where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the housing. 4) Compressor wheel to housing clearance must maintain a maximum of 0.080-inch clearance beginning from a) where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the inlet of the compressor housing to b) the transition point where the trailing edge of the compressor wheel meets the volute. 5) All air entering the turbocharger must pass through the turbocharger inlet. Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing prohibited. 6) Turbochargers must share common plenum. 7) Stacking turbochargers prohibited. Turbocharger compressor wheel must be constructed of cast or billet aluminum. Exotic material wheels prohibited.
TIRES:
Front tires must have a minimum tread width of 4.5 inches. Front tires do not have to be DOT
approved. Rear tires have no limitations. The tread of the tires must not protrude outside the body
line at the top of the tire.

PSCA Required Decals:
Class Sponsor Decal
A Hughes decal must be installed on base of windshield on the
passenger side. (Bottom left hand side when looking at front of vehicle windshield)
before entering the tech area..
PSCA Oval Decals
1 PSCA Oval decal must be placed on each side of every car in a
visible location before entering the tech area..
Series Sponsor Decal
Chassisworks decal must be installed on base of windshield on the
driver's side. (Bottom right hand side when looking at front of vehicle
windshield)
Contingency
Program & Contingency Decals
In order to become eligible for PSCA official contingency
program, You must first become a member of the PSCA. You can do this at
the PSCA Event Trailer during registration or on-line at the PSCA
Store. In order to receive Contingency Monies from any of the
listed Contingency Sponsors, you must have the correct product listed
and matching Contingency Decal for that product on your car for the
entire PSCA Racing Event... Racers will be checked for Products &
Decals while being teched in and winners & runner-ups again will be
checked in the Winner's Circle after the conclusion of each event.
Winners & Runner-ups failing to show up for this mandatory Inspection
will forfeit all Contingency Money that is owed!!!!
All Contingency Decals may appear anywhere on the vehicle in a clear and
organized fashion. Contingency decals may not be overlapped or modified.
Most decals are available at the PSCA Event Trailer, but in the event
the PSCA does not have the decals in stock, it is the racer's
responsibility to obtain the proper decals to be eligible for the
Contingency payout. Penalties
for
violating any PSCA Class Or
Contingency Program Rules Penalties will vary for any PSCA Class
or Contingency Program Rule violation's from
Championship Point Deduction, Race Suspension, Probation and/or Re-instatement
Fine (Paid to St Jude In the name of the PSCA) If you are in any
violation that directly effects our "Electronics Policies"
(Example: Use of a Delay Box, Use of a Throttle Stop, etc..) You can receive the Maximum Penalty
(Disqualification from Event with loss of 50 Championship Points,
Two-Race Suspension and a $500 Re-Instatement Donation) You will also be
listed on a Web Page for all to view what violation and penalty any
racer receives..
RACE DAY
POLICY'S
SCALES:
After each qualifying and elimination
pass, all cars must stop and weigh at the track scales. If you lose in
eliminations, and your opponent fails to make weight you will be
reinstated into the eliminations only if you made minimum weight
requirements. If both cars failed to make minimum weight, both cars will
be disqualified. It is the driver's responsibility to verify with each
track scale, the weight of his/her car prior to each race day. There
will 5lb error factor allowed.
Alternating Lanes During
Qualifying: Each Pro Street driver
must alternate lanes during qualifying. Even if you skip a session, you
must run the opposite lane you made your previous run in. If you choose
to ignore this rule, your second consecutive pass in the same lane will
be disqualified. Entering into a 2nd Class:
During qualifying, any PSCA racer who purchases a 2nd NHRA Tech Card and
pays entry into an additional class will be able to do so. However, once
your Final Pro Street Qualifying Session is Completed, Driver and Car are no
longer able to make runs in that 2nd class... This also means NO RUNS
(Driver and Car) in
the Sunday Morning Bracket Time Trials Session.
TOW BACK &
TOW VEHICLES:
All Pro Street entries are allowed to tow
to staging lanes and to the track scales. All are subject to be searched by a PSCA Official at any time. BYE-RUNS:
All vehicles must take the tree, and run down the 1/4 mile
(Unless instructed by PSCA
Official) and scale.
PAYOUTS:
All Pro Street Racers that earn prize money can go directly to the
PSCA trailer after eliminations and pick up his/her Winnings.
Winners Circle Picture & Contingency Verification:
Pro Street Winner & Runner-up must return to the PSCA Winners Circle
Area for Official Photographs and Contingency Verification. Failing to
do so, will result in loss of all contingency monies earned. There are
no exceptions!!!
