Class Description:
Real / Street is a heads-up class for all types of vehicles. Rear suspension may utilize ladder bar or four-links (no full tube chassis). Front suspension and frame must remain stock. Legal combinations include the use of nitrous oxide, supercharger, turbocharger and normal aspiration at different weight breaks for parity. All entries compete on a DOT approved, Mickey Thompson (30 x 13.5 ET Street) or smaller DOT tire.

Class Guidelines

BALLAST:
Permanently attached ballast may be added in a NHRA legal manner. Removable
ballast for the purpose of classification adjustments is limited to 100 lbs. in a NHRA weight box.

BODY:
The car must retain its original appearance and profiles. Aftermarket fiberglass replacement
panels are limited to hood, front fenders, doors, deck lid and bumpers. One piece front ends are
permitted, but must retain factory un-altered grille, head lights and bumper. 

Front Grille:
Complete factory un-altered grille is required. Grilles may be covered, but with only clear tape or clear Lexan or Plexiglas, and must have prior approval from a PSCA Official.

Rear Wing / Spoiler:
Aftermarket wings and spoilers are permitted, but may not extend more then 16 inches from the transition point with the body to the tip of the wing. Rear Wing "Spill Plates" does not have an exact size requirement, but must remain in the sprit of the Real Street class (If your wing is questionable, email (mel@pscaracing.com) a photo and notify the PSCA before you enter a race)

LETTERING / DECALS:
Car lettering is limited to windows only, except for 1 major sponsor logo that may appear on the rear quarter panel or door (decal or name must be no larger than 10" x 36")  Upper front windshield area must be cleared for Series Sponsor Windshield Banner. 

FIREWALL:
Must retain in original factory location, and be constructed out of sheet-metal. Notching of factory firewall for valve cover clearance is allowed.  

HOOD / SCOOPS:
Hood scoops are allowed. Induction system and engine components on normally aspirated and nitrous injected entries must be fully covered by a legal scoop / hood.
Scoop or cowl may not exceed more than 9 inches above height of original hood surface to the top of the hood scoop or cowl.
Supercharged and turbocharged entries may have their induction and engine components
protruding out of an opening in the hood / scoop with NHRA approved-shields.

INTERIOR:
Dash board must be stock appearing and in stock location. Door panels must be covered. Carpet and or upholstery is required to cover the flooring and tunnel where visible. Headliner is not required. Brake & Throttle pedals must remain in stock location.

SEAT LOCATION:
Two front full size bucket seats, or one bench seat with upholstery required.
Seats must remain in the factory stock location.

WINDOWS:
Must be of safety glass, Lexan, or other shatterproof materials, minimum 1/8th inch
thick. Also must be clear and non hazy. Drivers door window must be operational.

BRACKET RACING AIDS:
The use of bracket racing aids such as optical sensors, delay boxes,
and throttle stops are not allowed.

BRAKES:
All cars must have front and rear brakes.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION

FRONT SUB-FRAME:
All sub-framed or full framed cars must retain complete stock front sub-frame from firewall forward. Frame connectors or rear frame rails may not pass engine firewall, except for the following exceptions. The 62-67 Chevy II's and 64 1/2-68 Mustangs and similar cars with bolt-on front K-members, must retain stock or aftermarket bolt-on front sub-frame. The sub-frame must be a bolt on (not welded) to factory mounting location. Frame connectors or rear frame rails may pass firewall location, but not exceed where original front sub-frame mounts to the body. All late model Mustangs must retain factory front sub-frame from firewall forward. Stock or direct fit aftermarket K-members are permitted, but must be bolted in factory location using factory bolt holes. Cross-members on all front sub-frames may be altered or removed for oil pan clearance.

FRONT SUSPENSION:
All cars must retain stock suspension, aftermarket tubular control arms, coil over kits, or OEM front strut retrofits are permitted. But must be a direct bolt on, no welding modifications permitted. Aftermarket Racing Struts with spindle mounts or hub mounts designed
for tube type front ends are prohibited. Stock wheelbase will be enforced on all vehicles.
**The only front suspension bolt-on kit deemed legal by the PSCA are the *HEIDTS, FATMAN & *CHRIS ALSTON & AJE Racing bolt-on kits (for 62-72 Nova's & 67-69 Camaro's & Firebirds) . Kit must be installed as instructed. *Kits may also has a weight penalty, see add weight section.

DRIVE TRAIN
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS:
Automatic transmission originally produced by any American automobile manufacturer are permitted. Transmission-to-engine adapters are permitted. 

MANUAL TRANSMISSION:
Aftermarket transmissions are allowed but are very limited. Liberty, G-Force, and Lenco types are not permitted.  All shifts must be made manually without the aid of electric or pneumatic devices. Also, clutch operation must be manual.

REAR END:
No restrictions

ENGINE:
There is a 440ci limit for small blocks and a 550ci limit for big blocks. There are no
restrictions on internal engine modifications (See weight section for your combo)

BLOCK:
Aftermarket iron or aluminum blocks are permitted. No, Keith Black or TFS or similar
solid blocks allowed. Blocks must be designed with water passages. 

EFI: (Electronic Fuel Injection) Any EFI or digital fuel injection is permitted. 

ENGINE MOUNT LOCATION:
The maximum allowable engine setback from the center line of the number-one spark-plug hole to the center line of the front spindle is 2 inches, except in those vehicles in which the engine was factory installed at a distance greater than 2 inches behind the spindle. In such cases, the engine set back may be no further back than the original location.

HEADS:
Cylinder heads restrictions: One spark plug per cylinder Max,  All billet cylinder head prohibited, Two valves per cylinder maximum. 
Hemispherical heads: OEM or  Direct replacement are allowed (please call with part# to insure legality) Top Fuel type heads STRICTLY PROHIBITED.  

INTAKE MANIFOLD:
No restrictions.* See add weight section.

NITROUS: 
FOUR (4) nitrous solenoids Max & FOUR (4) gas solenoids Max for a total of EIGHT (8)solenoids. Entrees may use these solenoids in any manner.  Purge systems are permitted, but purge discharge tube must exit completely away from cowl area, and/or hood scoop opening, and may not be within 12 inches of the opening of the hood. If the PSCA official believes the nitrous purge has any possible chance of entering the engine compartment, the driver will be asked to make necessary changes before passing tech.

SUPERCHARGER: 
Single roots or centrifugal superchargers are permitted (see weight guide)  Supercharger restraint system meeting NHRA safety standards mandatory on Root-type (14.71 max) units. Screw-type superchargers are prohibited.

TURBOCHARGER:
SINGLE TURBOCHARGER:
Accepted single turbochargers for V/8's are permitted with the following requirements for 88mm: 1) Turbocharger must be of conventional impeller and housing design and type. 2) Turbocharger is limited to a maximum size of 3.464” (88.00mm) - inducer wheel diameter at the point where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the inlet housing. 3) Inlet housing is permitted a maximum inlet diameter of 3.555” (90.29mm) where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the housing. 4) Compressor wheel to housing clearance must maintain a maximum of 0.091” clearance beginning from a) where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the inlet of the compressor housing to b) the transition point where the trailing edge of the compressor wheel meets the volute. 5) All air entering the turbocharger must pass through the turbocharger inlet. Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing prohibited.

EXHAUST:
Production type mufflers or collector mufflers are required. No collector inserts permitted. Modification or removal of muffler internals is prohibited (no gutting). 

FUEL / FUEL SYSTEMS:
Gasoline & Alcohol only (No Nitro) Alcohol may be used with carbs only (cannot be used with any type of fuel injection) The PSCA reserves the right to check gasoline at any time during competition. The addition of chemical additives intended to alter the makeup of the gasoline for increased performance is strictly prohibited. During fuel check, a competitor must identify the brand of gasoline being used. The sample will be considered illegal if it does not match the baseline results (ex. color, dielectric reading +or-.2, and chemical tests) logged by PSCA. Failure to pass fuel check is grounds for disallowance of the run during competition and disqualification from the event during eliminations.

IGNITION:
No restrictions.

OILING SYSTEM:
Any wet oiling system is permitted. Dry sumps are prohibited. The front cross
member may be altered for oil pan removal. Vacuum pumps are acceptable.

ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS / DATA RECORDERS:
On board diagnostic computers and recorders are permitted. Memory and playback tachometers are allowed.

PARACHUTE:
Must meet NHRA requirements

RADIATOR:
An automotive-type radiator is required.

STEERING:
After market rack-and-pinion is allowed.

STREET LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
All entries are required to have two working headlights and two working tail lights (headlight doors must be fixed open or work manually or automatically on cars so equipped). Brake lights, turn signals not required to operate.

TIRES:
Front tires must have a minimum tread width of 4.5 inches. Front tires do not have to be
DOT approved. Rear tires must be either Mickey Thompson's 30x13.5 ET Street or Hoosier's
29x13.5 Quick Times, or smaller (height & width) DOT tire. The tread of the tires must not protrude outside the body line at the top of the tire.

RACE DAY POLICY'S
SCALES:
After each qualifying and elimination pass, all cars must stop and weigh at the track scales. If you lose in eliminations, and your opponent fails to make weight you will be reinstated into the eliminations only if you made minimum weight requirements. If both cars failed to make minimum weight, both cars will be disqualified. It is the driver's responsibility to verify with each track scale, the weight of his/her car prior to each race day. There will 5lb error factor allowed. 

TOW BACK
& TOW VEHICLES:
Real Street does not allow tow vehicles of any sort in the staging lanes. All Real Street vehicles must drive to scales and return to pits without the aide of any other vehicle.

BYE-RUNS:
All vehicles must take the tree, and run down the 1/4 mile.
