Class
Description: True Street is a heads-up class
reserved for passenger cars and trucks. Several key performance
restrictions including nitrous & supercharger limitations, stock suspension, and a DOT approved rear tire. This will try to keep these street cars
tame...well at least try
CLASS GUIDELINES
BALLAST
Permanently attached ballast may be added in a NHRA legal manner. Removable ballast for the
purpose of classification adjustments is limited to 100 lbs. in a NHRA weight box.
BODY
The car must retain its original appearance and profiles. Aftermarket fiberglass replacement panels
are limited to; hood, hood scoop, fenders, deck lids, and bumpers. One piece front-ends are
allowed, but must retain factory grill, head lights, and marker lights (no fake or airbrushed grilles
allowed). Aftermarket wings and spoilers are permitted, but may not extend more then 10
inches
from the transition point with the body to the tip. The driver and passenger doors must be fully
operational and must open from the outside.
FIREWALL: Must retain factory firewall. No exceptions. You may add a cosmetic overlay, over the
unaltered, factory firewall.
HOOD / SCOOPS: Hood scoops are allowed. Induction system and engine components on
normally aspirated and nitrous injected entries must be fully covered by a legal scoop / hood.
Scoop or cowl may not exceed more then 7 inches above height of original hood surface.
INTERIOR: Dash, stock-type steering column, and seats must be in stock locations. Aftermarket
or street-rod columns are permitted. Door panels must be covered or painted. Stock-type pedals in
stock location are required. A full stock dashboard with instruments (aftermarket instruments are
allowed), and controls must be retained. Full carpeting required.
LETTERING / DECALS: Car lettering is limited to windows only. Upper front windshield area must
be cleared for Series Sponsor Windshield Banner. Front right lower of
windshield must be cleared for class sponsor decal (Calvert Racing)
SEAT LOCATION: Two front bucket seats (Racing seats OK), or full bench seat with upholstery
is required. The back seat may be deleted if it interferes with the roll cage; however, the exposed
areas must be carpeted or covered with upholstery
WHEEL TUBS: Aftermarket steel wheel tubs are permitted for tire clearance purposes only and
should resemble an OEM appearance. Grossly oversized tubs are not permitted.
WINDOWS: Must be factory safety glass. No Lexan or Plexiglas permitted, unless on the rear
window of an El Camino-type vehicle or truck, where the roll cage protrudes through the back
window. Driver and passenger door windows must be fully operational.
BRACKET RACING AIDS:
The use of bracket racing aids such as optical sensors, delay boxes, stutter boxes, and throttle
stops are not allowed.
BRAKES:
Brakes are required on all four wheels. No other
restrictions.
CHASSIS / SUSPENSION
FRONT: Suspension components must all remain in stock locations. Direct bolt-on A-arms are
permitted. Tubular K-members that are a direct bolt on are permitted. Vehicle must retain factory
shock system (struts are only permitted on cars that came factory equipped. Sway bars may be
removed.
REAR: Suspension components must all remain in stock locations. Aftermarket control arms /
springs are allowed. Frame notching is OK for tire
clearance. Shocks may be moved inward for tire clearance purposes only, but must
retain factory angle. No coil over shocks permitted. Leaf springs may be moved inward for tire
clearance purposes only. Sway bars may be removed or added. Weld in Anti
Roll Bars are legal.
DRIVE TRAIN
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: Automatic transmissions originally produced by any American
automobile manufacturer are permitted. Transmission-to-engine adapters are allowed. Aftermarket
torque converter, shift kit, valve body, trans-brake, pan cooler, and shifter use are permitted. All
shifts must be made manually without the aide of aftermarket electric or pneumatic devices.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION: *Aftermarket
Manual Transmissions are allowed. Lenco,
Liberty, Clutchflites, or Clutch Hydros are not permitted. All shifts must be made manually without the aide of aftermarket electric
or pneumatic devices. (*see weight breaks)
REAREND: Any rear end is allowed. Track width must remain stock
plus or minus 2 inches for body used. Spools, aftermarket axles, and any gear
ratio are allowed.
ELECTRICAL:
Battery may be relocated. Electric fans and water pump drives are allowed. The charging system
is optional and is not required.
ENGINE:
Any production-based engine may be used. Crossbreeding of an engine to a different make of body
is acceptable, however the stock engine bay and firewall must be retained. There are no
restrictions on internal engine modifications. No dry sump
oiling systems allowed.
BLOCK: Aftermarket, cast-iron or aluminum blocks are permitted using stock deck height
measurements or lower.
DISPLACEMENT LIMITS:
*525ci max. for big blocks.
*412ci max for supercharger or turbocharged small blocks (see weight breaks).
*434ci small blocks w/ nitrous
ENGINE MOUNT LOCATION: Engine must be in stock location. Solid engine mounts and motor
plates are permitted. If crossbreeding an engine, valve covers may not touch original factory
firewall.
HEADS: Two valves per cylinder maximum. The following are cylinder heads restrictions (1) No
splayed, symmetrical, or canted valve small block heads (unless its a factory style replacement)
(2) Hemispherical heads are prohibited (3) One spark plug per cylinder Max (4) All
billet cylinder
head prohibited (5) No Pro Stock type small block heads.
Other restrictions: No Big Chief, Pontiac, Olds, or any symmetrical and non conventional
style cylinder
heads. Also includes Ford C & E Motorsport heads. No "Yates" or "Neal" SBF heads
or similar heads permitted.

INTAKE MANIFOLD: Any commercially available cast iron or cast aluminum, single, four barrel
manifold accepted. No sheet-metal or tunnel ram-type intakes permitted. One carb spacer up to
two inches permitted.
EXHAUST:
Mufflers are required. Modification or removal of muffler internals is prohibited (no gutting). Exhaust
must turn down and away from driver.
FUEL / FUEL SYSTEMS:
The PSCA reserves the right to check fuel at any time.
Gasoline is the only acceptable fuel. Mechanical and electric fuel pumps, fuel cells, pressure
regulators, and any line size are allowed. No fuel additives are allowed.
IGNITION:
Aftermarket battery operated ignitions, multiple-step rev limiters, electronic conversion kits, and
external amplifier boxes allowed.
INDUCTION
NITROUS OXIDE SYSTEM "BIG BLOCKS":
Nitrous is restricted to a single-stage, commercially available plate unit, using only two spray-bars(1 nitrous, 1
gas). Furthermore, the system may consist of only one (10 or 15 pound nitrous-oxide bottle) and a total of two
solenoids (1 nitrous, 1 gas) to control fuel
and nitrous delivery to the engine. One additional solenoid may be added for a purge system.
Purge outlet must not be directed toward the entrance to the hood
scoop (purge must exit outside of engine
compartment). No multiple plates or fogger-type nozzles are permitted. Nitrous may not
be used in conjunction with a turbo or supercharger. Nitrous electronic controllers are permitted. *
NITROUS OXIDE SYSTEM "SMALL BLOCKS":
Nitrous is limited to a multiple stage plate system or a single fogger
system. 2 nitrous & 2 gas solenoids only (No "Trashcan"
type solenoids are permitted) "Double Cross Plate",
"Annular Discharge" and "Gemini" plates are now
legal. Purge systems for each stage is
permitted. Purge outlet must not be directed toward the entrance to the hood
scoop (purge must exit outside of engine
compartment). Nitrous may not
be used in conjunction with a turbo or supercharger. Nitrous electronic controllers are permitted.
SUPERCHARGER:
Roots-type superchargers up to 871 are permitted with single
carburetor only. Single centrifugal superchargers are permitted. Superchargers and
turbochargers limited to small blocks less than 412ci (see weight
breaks) & only certain Superchargers are legal for True Street (See
list in weight section at bottom of page)
TURBOCHARGER: SINGLE TURBOCHARGER:
Accepted single turbochargers for V/8's are permitted with the following requirements: 1) Turbocharger must be of conventional impeller and housing design and type. 2) Turbocharger is limited to a maximum size of 3.149” (80.00mm) - Compressor housing inducer diameter. 3) Compressor wheel is limited to a maximum inducer diameter of 3.346” (85.00mm) where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the housing. 4) Compressor wheel to housing clearance must maintain a maximum of 0.091” total clearance beginning from a) where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the inlet of the compressor housing to b) the transition point where the trailing edge of the compressor wheel meets the volute. 5) All air entering the turbocharger must pass through the turbocharger inlet. Injection of any liquid, gas, or any other substance into the inlet or exhaust housing prohibited

OILING SYSTEMS:
Any oil pan is allowed. No dry sumps are allowed. Vacuum pumps are acceptable.
ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS / DATA RECORDERS:
On board diagnostic computers and recorders are permitted. Memory and playback tachometers
are allowed.
PARACHUTE:
Not required, but must meet NHRA safety guidelines.
RADIATORS:
An automotive-type radiator is required.
STEERING:
Rack and pinion allowed on all vehicles.
STREET LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
All entries are required to have working headlights and tail lights (headlights doors must be fixed
open or work manually or automatically on cars so equipped). Brake lights, turn signals are not
required.
TIRES:
Front tires must have a minimum tread width of 4.5 inches. Front tires do not have to be DOT
approved. Rear tires must either be Mickey Thompson ET Streets 28 x 12.50 or 30 x 12.50 or
Hoosier Quick Times 28 x 11.50 or 29 x 11.50 or smaller (height and width). The tread of these
tires must not protrude outside the body line at the top of the tire.
WHEEL BASE:
Must retain stock wheel base with a maximum variation right to left and front to back of one inch.
WHEELIE BARS:
Wheelie bars permitted.
